No, Kingdom Crumbs is organized as a sole-proprietor LLC, which is one structure for a small business. There are a couple reasons for this, the main being complexity. I am operating this as a passion project - and I manage it and make decisions as I am able. In a nonprofit structure I would need to organize a board of directors, identify bylaws, and provide detailed tax records to maintain exemption status. Frankly, it is just a lot of administrative uplift that I am not investing in at this time. While it is a for-profit entity, I don’t expect to be profitable. 51% of our net profit is donated to 501(c)(3) organizations which are championing efforts to make the bible more accessible (like the Bible Project). The other 49% offsets costs related to the website and business registration. Annual financial statements will be shared as part of our commitment to transparency.

I am still figuring that out. I hope there may be enough success that I can commission artists for specific series, but at the very least there will be artists royalties for the sale of our physical products.
